Our Founder:  Hello all...I just wanted to tell you a little bit about myself and how the parties started. I started the parties in 1997, I had found the club in the Westin hotel back then was a Sheraton. There were no parties in CT and I knew there was such a need. I was afraid of the financial risk but figured nothing ventured nothing gained and had credit to do so. I know how the parties changed my life and wanted to be able to do the same for other BBW's. Believe it or not, I hated myself most of my life because of my size. I remember going to my first party back in 1990 which was a NAAFA event. Seeing big women who actually had self confidence, dressed sexy and were enjoying life was something I didn't know existed. Once I joined NAAFA and attended parties, I developed the confidence to be one of those women. Even though I was still married at the time, just to have a place that I felt comfortable was so wonderful to me. I ended my bad marriage after 20 yrs. Through NAAFA and the parties I found self acceptance. I also found a true inner peace when I stopped hating myself because of my size. I became the chairperson of the Ct NAAFA chapter and had organized many activities for the group. It's sad to say NAAFA faded away in CT mostly because of the non-supportive behaviors or immature attitudes which prevent a local chapter to stay successful. National NAAFA still exists and I owe them my life. I am so happy now to see women of size coming to the parties and taking the little steps to self love and a positive body image. Women that would never put on a bathing suit finally getting in the pool with us at one of the pool parties, or women who in their 40's were still virgins never going out because of their size.

Just to have a place where we can be comfortable without judgment is so important to me. The parties are not about the money, in fact a lot of times I lose money. What makes it all worth it to me is for the people to have a positive experience in being themselves in non-judgmental atmosphere. Also for the men who prefer us, they have a place to come and meet us woman of size. Some men have told me that they felt like they were alone in their preference and now know they are not alone. Even after all these years of doing parties, I still have fun. I could keep going on and on but will spare you all. Please come and check out a party I am sure you will not be disappointed.
